Not everyone has taxes as their main concern. I want a government that will not spy on its people. Initially they said that they listened to the international calls of suspected terrorist and now it has come to be known that they listened to the calls of military personnelâs private calls too. Iâm willing to pay more in taxes for a stronger dollar. I want the government that doesnât have the âDeficits donât matterâ philosophy. The declining purchasing power of the dollar is an indirect tax, so during Bush years our taxes have been approx. 60%. By the way how did your wife pay for Medical school? Did she take out student loans? If she did thatâs a form of welfare too..... I know many people that are against welfare but love their student loans.
Nope. Parents saved and paid for it. D'oh! Now THERE'S a concept... (And no, her parents are not rich.... Pharmacist and school teacher)
If you consider student loans to be welfare, then that definition is a slippery slope to blaming government spending for not breathing more smog than you already do. It doesn't work in logic. Not even a nice try! When you decide to live without anything the American government has a hand in, move to Canada and enjoy the higher surviellance, lower medical care and liberal wackos hugging trees to get loggers fired. Even on a hilltop in Idaho with a truck full of MREs, you would still have taxes to pay for tabs and property tax.
So... you think that once Hussein NObama takes office the Patriot Act will be repealed? Direct taxes or deficits... both are confiscation of wealth. One not better than the other in the long run... both lead to the same end.
Put it this way. There is no chance Patriot act will be repealed if McCain is selected. Direct taxes - you settle it in current generation. Deficits - you pass it onto the next generation + you hand a leach to foreign governments.
No chance it gets repealed if Hussein NObama is elected, either. I'm wholeheartedly against deficits... but the DemoCraps have been running them all along too.... though admittedly Bush is the worst violator in history. (And please, no "Clinton surplus" reminders.. we all know that was from raised taxes and good fortune... he deserves no credit whasoever.)
How do you know? Between slim chance and no chance, I pick slim chance. Credit him or not. Clinton didn't run up the deficit. If he taxed people to achieve that, so be it. If there is a party that go for low tax, cut spending to achieve it, I am all for it. Currently, there is none. So, high tax, no deficit is the lesser evil. I have no illusion on the "Change" slogan that Obama has. Lots of things are in the execution. How well they can execute things.
Oh Pleeeeaaase.... repeal a law which gives the Executive Branch more power? (Do you also think they might repeal the the ruling which grants the FBI the authority to execute warrantless search? BTW... doesn't the Constitution guarantee us against that? 4th Amendment ring a bell?) Why is the "solution" always MORE TAXES, MORE SPENDING? Why can't it ever be LESS GOVERNMENT?
Because low-income has numbers to push what they want, the rich people has lobbyists to get what them want, and that leave you and me eating the crow. To be honest with you, my vote will be split between Libertarian party and Dems.
