  1. Yes I do that is why I said what I said. US contribution was important, but the US did not defeat Germany. They were already 80% done with at that time. Thank God for that .

  2. This is simply a theoretical debate...but there is no way that russia beats both germany and japan in wwII. Regardless of how many children they turned into slave labor. Remember, they were fighting a two front war, and It was the US contribution that put things over the top. (both economically and militarily). We booted them out of three areas before russian forces started turning the tide on russian soil.

  5. Russia was not fighting Japan. That is where you are mistaken in your argument. Russia was fighting one front war. Trust me. I am Russian and I know MY history.

Yes, america may have put things over the top. How nice to come in at the very end and run with the flag to Berlin and say usa won the war. You need to get to the top first to put something over the top. And america was there as a food supplier. I don't think you could beat nazis by throwing bacon at them.

  6. Now I see where your bias comes from...parden me...I didn't mean to insult the has been motherland. Don't be upset because we defeated the germans and broke the back of communism all in just 40 years.

  7. I am not upset at all and not arguing on emotional or patriotic grounds. It just a straight fact that Russia was not fighting with Japan and that most of heavy fighting and important battles was done by USSR. American fighting in WWII is highlighted by Normandy and battle of the bulge. What else can you name? Russia had battle for Moscow, siege of Leningrad, battle of Stalingrad, Kursk, taking of Kiev, partisan movement, taking of Warsaw, fight for Yugoslavia, storm of Berlin.

And USA did not defeat communism. It may have contributed in putting pressure on USSR (like 5% of total factors). But USSR fell on its own. Communist leadreship made a mistake, they tried to reform a little a non-working command economic system, people interpreted it as a chance at total liberation and swept them away from power. I know, I was there and saw everything happen in front of my eyes and from the windows of my apartment.

  8. From one SOB to another, the US Army Air Corps bombing the crap out of Germany week after week was one of the primary reasons for the defeat of Germany during WWII. The US/British/Canadian lead Normandy invasion was the second nail in Germany's WWII coffin.
