Does it matter whether your broker is truly STP or not. Oanda for example, is it really a straight through processing broker?
I think for a lot of traders it is a big deal. It seems like traders and brokers are leaning more towards no dealing desk in the past few years. I think brokers get a bad rap about "hunting stops" with the dealing desk. Traders complain on forums and it hurts their reputation, so if they don't take the other side of the trade they don't have to worry about those complaints. Also the traders like no dealing desk because they're not having the broker take the other side of the trade, where they can "hunt stops". I would personally go with an STP broker over a Market Maker.
