    echotrade is probably the best pro firm (if you have series 7) imo. Much better than bright, assent, and generic. very reasonable rates, good overnights and carry fees, and most of all, the people there are very straightforward. They dont sell you a dream, brag about their Bp etc. Try giving them a call and see where that takes you. Also notice you NEVER see the owners of echo combing thru elite like bottom feeders spreading propaganda about their firm. You will appreciate echo's reputation as a very straightforward bunch of guys.

  3. I've only heard good things about Echo. Is Echo related to Van Buren Securities?

    Echo was started by Rob and Jeff and they competed with Van Buren. The two merged in 2002.

  7. ..from previous experience of trading at echo, it seems like u never know where ur $ is going when u look at ur p&l..the owners of the firm maybe cool but the guys that run the manhattan office seem unprofessional/uncommunicative..seem to lack the understanding of dealing with the hustler/independent-type individuals that get into this biz..if you're serious about trading long term, try hold (low comish) or prestige cap/star alliance, decent guys with lots room for negotiation..

    fyi at echo..penny comish w/o fees, 150k bp new trader..
    as far as i know..none of the traders that started out with me ( a whole bunch) stayed there.

    --->Huh? What does <i>that</i> mean?

    <i>"the guys that run the manhattan office seem unprofessional/uncommunicative.."</i>

    ----->Do they say incoherent things like: "it seems like u never know where ur $ is going when u look at ur p&l.." ? Because that would certainly be a serious communication problem. Unprofessional too.

    (Don't take it personally, man... I'm just kind of a smartass.)

    <i>fyi at echo..penny comish w/o fees,</i>

    --->Maybe six years ago. Nobody pays anywhere near $0.01/share anymore. Commissions are WAY lower now.
