    Hi

Would anyone doing extensive backtesting recommend ECC over NECC Ram for better computational accuracy?

Further, if backtesting isn't undertaken, would it be more sensible to stay with NECC Ram for better speed and performance in everyday trading tasks (eg, charting), since ECC RAM has a higher overhead than NECC Ram?

    Thx.

    "computational accuracy"?!?

If you find either ram is not giving you the correct results then you have far bigger problems.

Stick with quality RAM, ECC or NON-ECC and you will not have any issues.

  3. Due to the correcting nature of ECC RAM, there is indeed some "latency" compared to Non-ECC RAM.

You can compare the "basics" at Wikipedia.

  4. Unless you do simulation that runs for days or run "mission critical" apps, I wouldn't even bother with ECC. High quality NECC is good enough.
