That may be an issue with one or two guys, but the majority extort that positive review out of the buyer before they satidfy their part of the contract. Bottom line, it's just wrong. But people, especially here, will take the various sides of this issue.

BTW, I didn't say I don't leave feedback, I just won't leave it first for a seller. Unless he went above and beyond the call to fix a problem.

If someone threatens your feedback rating can you send cousin Vinny round to threaten their "ability to walk ever again" rating? ;)

  4. I've been watching this for a while; it's trading at what I consider a crazy multiple given macroeconomic considerations.

Others present the thesis that a downtrodden economy will boost the fortunes of companies such as ebay, as more people will sell 'things' off to raise cash in order to deal with inflationary forces. I'm not convinced, as there not be as many buyers, either, for the same reason.

By the way, good call on Sprint, RM. That was very timely.

  5. Power sellers tell me if I was wrong.

I purchased an Electrical Circuit breaker.
Retail price of the item is $119.00 + 8.25% tax in CA total $128.82

On Ebay new usually sells for $75.00 +$5.00 shipping

I paid $80.00 about 10 days later I get used item with clearly visible burn marks on metal connectors (circuit breaker was burned out) I simply put it into a trash can and left a negative feedback. I didn't have time to go to a post office to ship it back and than wait another 10 days, my customer was waiting for me to complete the job.

So I got negative feedback in response to my feedback.

  7. IMO, the seller got what he deserved, and leaving you revenge feedback was unjustified. However, you did not act in your best interests at all. You could have demanded a full & immediate refund. The seller would have likely met this demand, or at worst he'd have refunded you after getting his garbage circuit breaker back. There's a chance he'd have insisted on a product exchange only (no refund), but it wouldn't have hurt you to make sure of that first, before leaving him the neg FB.

It's really not worth the problems buying on Ebay unless you're saving a lot of money or getting a hard to find item. The new system is actually an improvement to some asshole sellers:

I had some sellers tell me that they would only leave positive feedback after I left him positive feedback. I was planning on giving them positive feedback until they said that.

    **********

What really pissed me off buying on Ebay just yesterday.

I bought a $85 sat dish on Ebay Express from a seller with about 105+ all positive reviews but changed my mind within 30 minutes because I didn't think it could arrive by the weekend so I would buy a better one locally for more money.

Contacted Ebay support and they suggested I contact the seller. I requested merchant contact information and called him to find it was a discontinued number.

I messaged the merchant and the merchant said SORRY, ALL SALES FINAL (wasn't on the listing) and that he would ship me the dish within the next two days. What kind of store doesn't allow you to cancel an order that you just made that hasn't even been shipped?

I talked with Ebay support and they suggested I put the item back on Ebay if I didn't need it anymore. I will probably just sell it $10 less than what I paid, locally on craigslist.

I have never left a negative review in 9 years of using Ebay. I don't know if I should even leave a negative remark because the seller could always retaliate in real life with my name, address and phone number...

I guess this means I will not revieve the item. Hopefully the seller does not have my credit card # :( I called them to stop the charge & also put a claim on Paypal.

They must be able to hack the feedback system, as I always buy from sellers with positive feedback above 95% & with a lot of sales & usually a store too.

Anyone have this happen to them too ???
    I AM PI$$ED off. Luckily it's less than $10.
