There is no such thing as eternity past to eternity future. There is eternity, or there is the past and the future.
I can relate to that 100%, I remember when I stopped going to church, I walked into a pub for a beer (hadn't done that for many years) and felt guilty. Then I asked myself, why feeling guilty? Church bs brainwashed into me, that's why. Not long after I felt that weight of nonsense lifting off my shoulders.
I call nonsense to that. God would be a gambler, knows probabilities but not the future with 100% certainty.
Interesting lyrics. Beware any religion that depends on the death of what's good (the perfect son) to save what's bad (sinners). People, just let that sink in for a minute. Hello? Knock knock. Earth to Christian. Try wrapping your head around that for even a minute. A religion depends on the death of truth for it's life and/or salvation. Knock knock. Is anybody home behind your eyeballs? What, is obviously not obvious about any such religion? A religion depends on the death of life for the life of the dead. In what world is this considered normal, sane, or good? It could only be a religion where foolishness is considered wise, and/or where wisdom is considered foolishness. Just let that sink in for a New York minute. How can anyone associate, for even one minute, let alone one whole lifetime, with a religion that rests upon such a foundation? Foolishness is wise. Wisdom is foolish. Can any christian, so-called, riddle me this? ? ? Anyone? The death of the truth... = salvation Knock knock. Hello? Is anybody out there? Kill the good = save the bad. Is it not obvious? Are you not entertained? "Washed by the blood" of the good truth = the salvation of the bad liars? Am I missing something here? A religion requires the death of truth to survive. In which world? Let me break it down one more time: The death of truth is good because it saves us. What the hell or who the hell, exactly, is saved by the death of truth?
When you aren't afraid of consequences, then you feel freedom to do what you want. Our short lives on this earth reveal who we really are and how we really want to behave and it reveals that we are fallen creatures who aren't always and only good. Do you want to do things that aren't entirely wholesome, aren't entirely good? It is because God is innately good that He desires that we also choose to do those things that are only good. You make is sound like doing what is right is like a harsh master. That is because we have become corrupted. However, for believers, after death that struggle will no longer be there. We will be changed so that we won't desire or have any pleasure in things that are not good and right. In eternity, God won't change the unbeliever's desires, because they don't want Him to. God is not going to force anyone to turn to Him against their will. Think about all the things you have that you didn't create. You didn't design your body, your digestive system or heart or the ability to taste, smell, feel, hear and see. If you refuse to want Him in your life, He will one day leave you alone and that means all He has given to you will be taken away as well. Description of heaven: 22 I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.23 The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp.24 The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it.25 On no day will its gates ever be shut, for there will be no night there.26 The glory and honor of the nations will be brought into it.27 Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life. Revelation 21:22-27
There are more professional recordings of this song, but I enjoy this version with the sound of children playing in the background.
7 Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! 10 For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! Romans 5:7-10 NIV Some don't think the word reckless is appropriate to use for describing God's love. I see the point, but reckless in this sense is the love that meant God gave up all He had in heaven and came to die a tortuous death. It was reckless in the sense of disregard for His own pain and suffering so that we might be saved.
