Easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter....

I think you're right . Chasing wealth is a "lower realm" activity and you have to be able to give it up . Could also be that you're not in control of your own state when you're constantly chasing earthly pleasures . For example the "spirit" controls alcoholics .

I also find that when I'm not chasing wealth I seem to get wealthier .

    Good points.
Very interesting, the context. Some asked of Jesus Christ a trick question ''does he pay the poll tax??''. That poll tax question was first asked about 2,000 years before USA was a nation.
The trick was, Israel was like America + tax collectors were not popular\LOL. Jesus Christ tells the truth anyway.
Is it lawful to pay the tribute money? And they brought him a penny. Matthew 22, King James Version.:caution::caution: Some modern translations note it ''show me the money ''+ they did.

You are a Bible reader, murray t. You strike me as an Old Testament kind of guy.

That verse in the KJV was the original Jerry Maguire moment: Shew me the (tribute) money. And they brought unto him a penny.

I always enjoy reading the KJV best.

I agree with you but unfortunately christian doctrine disagrees with this idea.
According to gospel, one can be the nicest person on earth, but without christ you are condemned.

Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
[3] Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
[4] But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
[5] Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved)
[6] And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
[7] That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
[8] For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
[9] Not of works, lest any man should boast.
[10] For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
