I believe the hedge fund started out okay, but then went thorough a difficult phase - the issue of scalability meant the fund had problems getting fills. I found Kim to be a very knowledgeable, level-headed, pragmatic guy who has a knack of getting incredibly good fills. He's genuine, transparent and just seems to have that natural born-trader quality. And long may that continue. I got a little dis-heartened on some other threads which got hijacked by big egos. Confession time - now that's I've accidentally become active on this thread, I did take a little taster trade on DRI. Bought a double calendar (120 puts; 135 calls) for a debit of 1.58.
LOL I really hope @destriero reads this! If I recall correctly, Kim was making the markets in most of the single names. Which would explain his almost impossible fills. Good luck! I'll be keeping an eye on this one
Oh dear, you've invited trouble to this wonderful BS-free thread! Lol. I don't know the history between the two of them but I can imagine the wonderboys reaction to Kim. I look forward to his abuse on this thread, esp after he sees my name.
I did not know you two had disagreements. But the rule of thumb is, listen to dest. He has a lot of experience. I was being a tad sarcastic regarding Kim. Kim is not highly regarded on this board amongst option traders. We got him banned late last year. But that's in the past and I have no problem with him or his steady options service.
Yes, I got out a little too soon, but I convinced myself that a profit never a bad thing. There was still a lot of premium left in the shorts when I closed, and my head was saying "Leave it for another day" but the heart was saying "A bird in the hand....."
New was being sarcastic. Please link us to the Lg & Lt magic rabbit that is constantly baked and shoots lasers out of its eyes. Ask FFS about his (double) calendars. wheeeeee. The SO hedge fund hasn't been active for at least a year. Ops and administration was handled by another group. Klaiman wasn't even listed as a fiduciary.
Further, "Kim Klaiman" is a fraud. He brags about winning%, but he doesn't account for losses--he simply "rolls" the losers to calendars to avoid booking the loss. You book the PNL when the trade is closed. You don't pull a Karen and convert current losses into deferred contracts.
