It's my last week where I will have the luxury to look for opportunities all day. This weekend has been monumental for me and I believe I have found another piece to the puzzle. I'll be looking to beat my returns from last week. Max risk on any given trade will remain at 6% I averaged a little under 3% last week due to the directional nature of the trades.

I have already started on the research. Tomorrow looks like I will be placing many trades. As per usual most trades will be short vol with a directional bias and some will be delta neutral at inception. Something new this week will be out-right delta bets.

Good luck to everyone this week!

Did the spread price really go to $2.27 at the open before it dropped down to $1.60, 5 mins later? ... very volatile. Can you ever exit these spreads right on the open and get a decent price?

This is really the only sticking point with these earnings trades. The liquidity is terrible at the open, the stock swings around like crazy, and there's some luck involved in getting a good fill (you need to spray and pray with your limit orders). Overall, you end up leaving a lot of money on the table on winning trades, and giving up more than you should on losing trades. You can always hold and hope that it doesn't go too far from your strike as spreads narrow, but I still prefer to get out at open.

Cool software, what is it? No it was not 2.20 @ the open. There was no bid on the 78 strike at the open which is probrably skewing your results. As OM said liquidity only comes in at around 9:45 so you have to kind of get lucky there. I did not close the 82 strike. Instead I just closed the 73.5/78 back ratio to try and get a better fill (it worked).

I took a look at the software a while back and it seemed out dated. Clearly I was looking at it from a wrong angle. How much are you paying a month for it?

On a side note, I have been waiting all weekend to say this; I am fully loaded on the IFF May17 135 puts @ 3.30. I am no doubt over paying but I am pretty confident it plummets over 10% tonight. There is also a possibility of a 20% drop IMO

Edit** the 135 puts not 130
