Earn 2 Trade the gauntlet

  1. No you are not wrong. I do not want to be stopped. Everytime I find something in my life that works...friends and family, work collegues...etc try to stop me. Life is funny.

I feel like I have a boiling pot of water and something will change soon for me...I feel it. Too much drama some will say...but this is my online Journal and I try to cover everything.

    back to trading talk...

Normally I would be trading now...but again I am sticking to trading what works. My simulator is running like crazy but no windows opening. So I sit on my hands posting here in ET (my trading room).

  2. "So here is the question. Would you place your money with this trader if he had a track record of 2 years and you saw this list of most recent trades? Be Honest and state your criteria. We are not talking about the Gauntlet though."

Well, since you asked. Frankly NO, and why? Because I don't think you have the mental stamina to be in this for a long haul, maybe after 4 years or so, but even at that you would have to have been trading size. Also it would depend on what you were trading, we know you can't trade spot currency.

ES, you’re an addict. Only an addict would state that family attempts to stop you from doing something that works. 30Y of failure is a persistent/pernicious trend, Bro.

  4. It's bad enough my trade is out there for all to see, don't want my stop out there too. Must show my trade, but don't have to show my stop! I keep this to myself, till I need it.

To step in here on this real quick, but stops shouldn't be in the exchange order book until they are triggered. It's only limit orders on the market depth and market orders on the T&S. So unless your broker/feed provider is sharing your stops, no one should be seeing them on the exchange side to feed them into an algo. Forex is a bit different but for futures, I'm pretty sure stops aren't available to others via the exchanges feed.

Hey D, and the red letters are why he will fail again. I can tell just by reading about how someone views trading. Passion is great for your family, but horrible for trading. It seems to me he is the frog in the boiling water.

  7. OK, ES, you know we are friends as I have supported you all along here but you are asking for a honest opinion on if I would let you trade my money based on your recent trades. Here is my observation:

    1. I have concerns about both of your favorite trading times. Central time 11PM to 1 AM seems to me to be the absolute worst time you could pick to trade bonds.

    2. Trading stock indices right after the open seems to me to be the worst possible time to trade stocks because of the multiple reversals that often occur in the first 30 minutes after the open

    3. I also have concerns about the number of trades you are making and the low average profit per trade. It seems you might be trading the chop like I did. If you take out the one big profit day you are in a cumulative loss.

    4. It is very early in your posted trading results so it is not fair to make a money allocation decision at this point but you asked for our observation.

Trading should be boring. The problem is that his family, friends and colleagues are codependents.
