Byrd was a KKK member, and that deep of hatred of another person is tough to change, IMHO. Byrd did everything he could to stop the civil rights act, goes to voting record. You need to stand corrected. You can't stand that your beloved liberals are in fact the very people that did everything in their power to stop racial progress.
Yes, Byrd was a KKK member. I understand what Byrd's position was, and how it has been since his admission he was wrong. Did his heart change, or just his actions? I can't say...but his actions the past several decades reflect a change of some kind. Byrd could have changed his party, like so many other Dixiecrats did to republican...and he would likely have been re-elected in West Virginia...so it would appear that he did have change of heart and repented his mistake...but no one but he knows for sure. People make mistakes, and some admit their mistakes. Some repent their mistakes and try to make amends. It would be nice if Rand would just admit his mistake...but doesn't appear to be doing so. He is just digging in deeper to his position. He apparently doesn't think it is fundamentally wrong for a business owner to practice racism...and his dancing fool around the issue on Maddow illustrated that he really is not looking to change his position. There are many logical inconsistencies in Rand and the bagger positions, which when brought into question cause them to become defensive in their positions, and generally try to attack the messenger of their logical inconsistencies... However, this excursion into Byrd has nothing to do with Rand, but your strawman is duly noted...
