Early road aid leaves out neediest

  1. Internal review of where his votes came from decided where this money will go. Get used to it suckers.........B. Obama

  2. Those must be the counties with a higher republican voting base.

  3. This is partially true. The Republican rhetoric of refusing fiscal stimulus on 'principle' generally leads to no spending on studies and plans for infrastructure improvement.

When you don't spend the money on the local level for plans to improve your roads and transport, you can't spend the federal stimulus money. It is that simple. Bad local (often Republican) government leads to bad management of resources and lack of federal funds.

The Republicans can't have their cake and eat it too. You can't rail against federal stimulus and then complain when you didn't plan for spending of the stimulus money.

  4. The focus of the piece is on Elk County Pa. The Governor of PA is Ed Rendell, a democrat, who did not rail against federal stimulus. In addition the breakdown in Elk County is democrat 54.58%, republican 35.65%.

Your analysis is flawed and makes no sense at all. You are going to have to come up with a better excuse for Obama on this one.

  5. I was not specifically referring to Elk county. But since you brought it up:

    State Representative
    Matt Gabler, Republican, 75th district

    [edit]
    State Senator
Joseph B. Scarnati, Republican, 25th district

    [edit]
    U.S. Representative
Glenn "G.T." Thompson, Republican, 5th district

  6. Think of all the money spent in Iraq for the war that Bush needlessly started, that could have been used rebuilding America...

We have the best politicians money can buy, get over it. Mexicans have a strong lobby with our government and they can waltz in, take your job, use your public sector benefits, even use your SSI number with no penalty. The supreme court found that illegals that used somebody's ssi number are not stealing anything because they did not know the victims... make that the best politicians and judges money can buy...

  8. I didn't say you were specifically referring to Elk County. I said the article was focusing on Elk County. Since you brought up the elected officals of the county, it is very nice that you cherry picked the data. Here is a more accurate and complete breakdown.

    County commissioners
    June Sorg, Chairwoman, Democrat
    Ron Beimel, Democrat
    Daniel Freeberg, Republican

    Other county offices
Clerk of Courts and Prothonotary, Dave Frey, Democrat
    Coroner, Louis Radkowski, Republican
    District Attorney, Bradley Kraus, Democrat
Register of Wills and Recorder of Deeds, Pete Weidenboerner, Democrat
    Sheriff, Jeffrey Krieg, Democrat
    Treasurer, Peggy Schneider, Democrat

    State Representative
    Matt Gabler, Republican, 75th district

    State Senator
Joseph B. Scarnati, Republican, 25th district

    U.S. Representative
Glenn "G.T." Thompson, Republican, 5th district

    PA Governor
    Ed Rendell, Democrat

    US Senators
    Arlen Spector, Democrat
    Robert Casey Jr., Democrat

Hardly what I would call a republican dominated district, but hey don't let the facts get in the way.
