I don't see how it is so great if it has all these issues. The OP has had freezeups, aborted platform launches, etc.
Answering my own question - looks like it will run on linux. I have to give it a try. Sorry for bothering people here ;-)
To be fair, I should mention that my internet connection is pretty slow (too slow to watch Youtube videos in the lowest resolution). Tradestation 9.1 had some issues of its own, such as my scanner stopped working after the latest updates, the need to always use the same computer, and the cost. I switched back to version 9.0 and it works great (best backtesting I ever did, very quick, miles of free data, and the most functional interface I've ever used). E*Trade Pro is only for penny stox, in my case. They are so quirky themselves, the platform is the least of my worries
Your platform has nothing to do with trading Pink Sheets or Penny Stocks once they start to move. You must sit back and wait for the crash, wait and buy on the collapse (if this is the first or second leg up), you know what I mean. It's funny watching them try to buy a fast moving penny stock with a limit order above the Montage. I watched one last month go from $.01 to $.11, you had to wait for the breakdown from $.03 to $.019 and it moved to $.06, fell, broke down badly to $.029 (buy time), soon moved up to $.11. Timing is everything, you can use a Internet Browser Order entry if you know how to trade Pink Sheets.
