what would you say, how much is your average monthly return on % basis of your account ? how is the distribution of your winners in terms of RR look like ? i mean, do you have for example 60% 1:1, 30% 1:2 and 10% 1:3 + ? thank you trading
This is getting ridiculous. My cable (RR) went down AGAIN. I was able to get in a few trades but this is frustrating. Just got back on-line. AAaarrgghhh. Conspiracy Theory: Roadrunner is pushing their business class service here. It wouldn't surprise me that they are cutting the juice on purpose during market hours to shake out all the traders so they will want more redundancy and have to cough up the higher fees. Oh well, who knows. I'm trying to incorporate a more "wait and see" style. Meaning less scalping and more of letting the position mature to reveal it's full intention. Not wanting to disrupt myself too much, I must be aware of what I'm doing at all times, or else be stuck on both sides of the fence. Like today. I actually held two trades for almost 10 min. but then had 2 of less than 1 min. No consistency. Eventually I should be able to grasp that concept 'cause I can see the formation of it in the distance... it's just so damn hard to jell everything together. Cable went down @ 11:30 eastern. No trades after that. +4 points / 5 RT's
Bronks, you should use a dial-up as a backup. It is more than adequate for a few charts and an execution program. I'm forced to use one where I live and it works great (42K average baud). High bandwidth is overrated unless you have massive charts running and you're an ultra-scalper.
I agree. I can't get broadband either, but my price changes with eSignal are at or before what's shown on Hee-Haw (CNBC).
ddefina-- Actually I do. It's the RR dial-up service that they provide. However, the few times I have used it was miserable. I kept loosing data and my java applet would either be delayed or freeze. So I'm kinda shaky on that. Roadrunner has been for the most part reliable since I've had it. I just don't understand why it's always during market hours when it craps out.
Common sense needs to prevail on days like today. If you're about to be run over by a truck, one needs to either: 1. Jump on and hold for the ride -OR- 2. Get the f**k outta the way. The last thing you wanna do is fade the truck. Which is what I did. Dumbass. Runaway gap days continue to wreak havoc with my P/L and my head. Looks like I'm gonna have to get beat up a few more times before it sinks in. Down by 8 points early and quickly. Knowing I was out of my game, I sat and watched for most of the day. Still, I had a sneaky suspicion of a sell-off and when it came, I dove in and ended the day in positive territory, barely. I'm not all that pleased with my performance today knowing full well that I must capitalize on a trending market as they can yield some very good results if played correctly. +3 points / 5 RT's / acct: 4319.20
Bronks, big gaps often turn into trend days. Check LBR's site out and see what she has to say about trend days. Also Google will be giving a class for trading on trend days and posting her material at www.dacharts.com. And heck you didn't lose money today. Be happy! ~EC
nkhoi-- Went short at precisely 15:32:10 and again at 15:45:58. For a total of 12 points. Man, looks like you dropped in on some of that to, huh? How did you play today and how many points did you make (you don't have to answer that if you don't want to)? I only ask because I'd like to know how a pro handled it.
