I do not mean the option costing something based on it's underlying value. I mean the plain old simple cost to buy the damned thing. If the mini option is for $1, why is the micro option not for $0.1? Who sets the price of an option, anyways? The optionsellers.coms of the world? The people who write them?

I'm going to keep playing @TimMykes for as long as I can, since he/she/it said I won the internet. If I keep going with this, I might win the whole universe, too!

At least we know Tim has won the captain obvious award for DUH, when he goes on with..."never bought an option in his life". Yeah...No shit, Holmes?

As for the questions I had, it matters not I suppose. The options tables are what they are, and I will not understand why when everything in a future is exactly 1/10th in monetary value, the option does not follow suit in the cost to enter. Maybe one day, in the next few years, when my long futures trades I have been in for a month finally settle into profit, I'll check out the e-micro option primer the CME sent out at end of August, and try to understand it a tad more. If I can.

Thanks for all the replies you helpful folks. You know who you are.
