This is the kind of organization that, to me, seems like they are genuinely trying to help people—even if they ARE paid by the insurance companies...
Headed south on Lakewood Boulevard, I passed a large edifice with a curious name hanging on its side and wondered what it might be. So of course, once I got to my office, I hopped on YouTube to look into what it was...
Having just finished the "Enhanced Phase: Volume One" leg of applying Numerical Price Prediction, I once again have the time to go back and complete the process of publishing my first retail book (the topic of which is mastering the multiplication tables). However, because Microsoft, which I already hate, ticked my off even more when they stopped answering customer service calls using real human beings, I have abandoned using Microsoft Office, and this has caused formatting issues with the draft of my manuscript, which I created using Microsoft Word. Consequently, I'm planning to start afresh with someone other than Kindle Self-publish. I'm trying out Draft2Digital, but they require me to upload my cover in a size that's WAY too big. This meant I had to search for a half-way applicable premade cover substitute from SelfPubBookCovers for like $84, and the following was the best I could do (the first image is my own cover and the one on the right is what I just bought)...
I was going to use Draft2Digital, but they want me to upload a finished manuscript. I therefore tried Lulu, but they wanted the same thing. When I checked out IngramSpark, I found they DID offer the option of using their FREE book-building tool, but when I clicked on the button to Continue, nothing happened! I therefore downloaded Archway Publishing's guide, but it's eight pages long, so I'll go back and read it later tonight when I have the time. Barnes & Noble will let me sell my book OR keep it personal. That means I can also print my Numerical Price Prediction publication without sharing it with the general public, which will be perfect! However, I've yet to find out if Barnes & Noble offers a book-building tool like IngramSpark, which is what I'll need to convert my Microsoft Word manuscripts to whatever formats they're using. This is how the page size, margins and bleed need to be prepared to print my 8.5" × 11" booklet on Barnes & Noble... "When using Microsoft Word on a PC, you need to change your settings to enable embedded fonts." For directions on how to do this, go here: https://help-press.barnesandnoble.c...0L*MTcxNDMyODg3NS4xLjEuMTcxNDMzMDQ0MC4wLjAuMA.. For a paperback, I'm supposed to set my cover size to 8.625" x 11.25". (For my cover design to go to the edges, some of it will need to be trimmed off.) Unfortunately, I won't be able to upload my cover until I've finished with the content. If I use WPS instead of LibreOffice, I'll be able to keep the Microsoft Word formatting so that all I'll have to do is add any missing artwork and make sure that all the work already inserted has been coveted from 96 dpi to 300 dpi. Then I can convert the document to PDF format and not have to worry about embedding any font. (I'll be able to simply upload it to Barnes & Noble as is.) This should put me right "back on schedule."
Temu.com Temu is an online marketplace operated by the Chinese e-commerce company PDD Holdings. It offers heavily discounted consumer goods which are mostly shipped to consumers directly from China. I guess the price is low enough to give it a try, but you know how you won't buy stuff from Best Buy or Wallmart 'cause their products break as soon as you get them home (hyperbole). And though these shoes might approximate the (Stacy Adams) style you like, if they hurt your feet, how often are you going to wear them?
