What happened to my old Middle School? Whittier Junior High School was named for the American poet, John Greenleaf Whittier (1807-1892). It was located at 22nd and Vine Streets in Lincoln, Nebraska. The building was built in 1923 and used until 1977 as a junior high school. It was then used as an alternative high school until 1980. In 1983, the University of Nebraska Foundation purchased the building. Since then, it had been used sporadically, but mostly, the building sat empty. Then in 2007, the university's Board of Regents approved a $24 million project to renovate the building into research space dedicated for use by interdisciplinary research programs.
This is not a business. It is the Stoval Villa apartment complex, and that phone number is some kind of medical service.
