  1. I am looking up upgrade my video cards. I am using 2 19" CRT's.
I see they have one that sells for about $179.00 and another for $315.00. The one for $315.00 is the 8500DV. Which model of the 8500?? are you using?

    Thanks

    JABEZ,

I'm using the dual 8500 AGP card for $179.00

The 8500 DV model apparently is for advanced video editing.

I had lots of trouble with the 8500 on Windows 98 until I finally upgraded to Windows 2000 Pro. It seems to work ok now and is real stable.

But if you find the other lengthy thread on monitors and video cards, you may not settle on ATI. The Matrox appears to be a really a popular card among the users on this web site.

    Good luck.

  3. Thanks kowboy,

I checked out the Matrox and these look pretty solid. I'm leaning that way now.

    Hi Traders,

First visit to site.A lot better than some others I have tried.

If you want to set up multiple monitors with one PC it is very easily done with Win 98.Not sure about other Operating Systems
    as I use Win98/SE - easily checked.

I have successfully done this using one AGP video card and several PCI cards - some even being of the same type and
manufacturer.Low memory cards will work fine - 4 Mb - and these can be picked up for a few dollars.

Install each card separately, letting Win98 pick up the new card after each re-start.Monitor layout can be changed through the Display Properties Window.
