Dual Monitors and Vista

Discussion in 'Hardware' started by daxscalper, Nov 23, 2008.

  1. I have finally upgraded my trading computer and have Vista installed on my new machine.

I have a second monitor plugged in that the computer acknowledges but will not engage.

    Any ideas?

Upgrade your OS, too. To WinXP.

Are you using one video card with two outputs, or two separate video cards?

When you go to Display Settings, do you see the second monitor? If so, have you hit 'extend my desktop' checkmark?

I put that theory to the test and I recently failed to run 4 monitors with XP - Got rid of XP and installed Vista Ultimate - not a problem, its a beauty, fast extreme graphics, runs 10 tick charts no data loss or lag plus 3 order entry platforms monitoring 30 markets

Must have been "operator error". There are TONS of rigs running 4 and more monitors on XP... with nary a hitch.
