Dual Core vs. Single Core

  1. I will only be running Tradestation, and possibly browsing the internet. I will have a bunch of charts open most of the time (not sure if that matters).

This being the case, can anyone tell me if dual core will benefit me at all vs. a fast single core?

    Thanks.

  2. benefits? probably not much......

the bottle necks usually do not lie with the speed of the processor, but it is with the speed of network connection itself.

unless you're doing multi threaded calculation on the data. you wont be able to take too big of an advantage of a dual core processor.

even back in the days... having dual processor of lets say 400mhz, does not equal to a 800mhz processor. same argument is still valid.

stop it with these dual core vs single core threads.... do some research online first!

there are plenty of reviews on dual vs single with empirical data
