Downstream speed is more important. The only really important uploading is used for is to send orders...those orders are very small. Even a 56K modem would be fast enough for you to send out orders. On the other hand, download bandwidth is needed for all your datafeed like quotes and charts and live, real-time filters are very bandwidth intensive on the downstream side.
