Driving Miss Daisy

  1. Seems to me if our hardware drivers are in good shape and we want to either replace our OS HDD or reinstall the OS by formatting the OS HDD, we could just jump drive or otherwise store off disc our drivers such that we would not have to spend the time to download and install fresh drivers to get back up and running.

To make extra sure we have fresh drivers we could go through device mgr and tell it to update all drivers before exporting the driver files. It would be nice if we could tell device mgr to look for updates for all drivers.

    Make sense?

So are all hardware drivers in the C:/Win/Sys32 file or are they spread out? What would I copy off my C:/ drive to have all my drivers saved somewhere and how would I put that file back (with an overwrite for example)?

    Thanks.
