Freehold and the surrounding towns used to be dumpy working class areas, but have come a long way in the last 5 years mainly because of the housing boom. However, these small Jersey towns (and Long Island) towns will probably be in decline for many years to come. The migrant workers along the streets were used as construction workers, but are no longer needed.
