lol wtf? I can't think of one Ivy that doesn't take the ACT (w/o the SAT). Over 90% of Ivy applicants take both tests.

Can you name which Ivy's either you or your children have applied to? Then tell me about the Ivy's "accepting" the ACT.

Or let me ask this in another way - find me one student who got accepted into an Ivy as an undergraduate who was from the United States who did not take and get high scores on the SAT.

Yeah, one family's Ivy admission record would be an awesome statistical sample, you f*cking retard.

My youngest niece got a Questbridge Scholarship; but is applying to Harvard as her #1. They don't take Qbridge, but the rest of the Ivy does. It's a full-ride for the schools which participate.

13% of Princeton's incoming ONLY took the ACT. I would assume that Princeton is still Ivy and that 13% of their incoming frosh is a number exceeding one.

So in other words, all the experts that advise families who want to get their children into Ivy League schools are wrong. All of these experts who state that you MUST take the SAT to be seriously considered for Ivy admission are wrong. All the school guidance counselors who state the same thing are wrong. Ok, whatever.

You can call me all the names you want. But I am right.

Let's go to the Princeton Admission statistics from the university website.

    https://admission.princeton.edu/applyingforadmission/admission-statistics

Gee... no breakdown of admission statistics by ACT score.... only by SAT score.

    Experts? Experts you say!!?

    Again, you're a fucking retard.

    http://www.nytimes.com/2013/08/04/e...nts-are-taking-both-the-act-and-sat.html?_r=0

"Of this year’s (2013) 26,000 applicants to Princeton, 13 percent, or 3,477 students, submitted only ACT scores — up from 2 percent (385 of 17,000 applicants) for fall 2006. And almost 8,000 this year submitted scores from both tests. That is just fine with Janet Rapelye, dean of admissions — maybe even desirable."

So you post an article that "More Students are Taking Both the ACT and SAT"... that has nothing to do with Ivy League admissions in general. The article makes it appear that none of the 3,477 students out of 26,000 applicants who only provided ACT scores actually got into Princeton.

Yes, I know that more students are taking both the ACT and SAT. My own children did, since some universities in the South such as the University of South Carolina award scholarships based on ACT scores.

However the bottom line - once again - if you are serious about attending an Ivy League school than you must provide an SAT score. Providing both tests (SAT & ACT) is good, but ACT alone is a guarantee that you will have a much harder path in being admitted.

The gist of the article is probably correct, but the author would have done better to look at the University of California system as an example.
