Dr. Birx Reportedly Believes Coronavirus Death Toll Inflated By Up To 25%

  1. Sure, but the experts in the field are saying that if you want the virus to be contained then you need to observe the recommended guidelines. Manageable or no, my life is worth more than you getting a haircut on time.

    And remember the Fram commercial:

  2. I don't disagree. Not all businesses are of equal necessity and while unfortunate those less than necessary businesses will have to wait. That said, we need to be looking at maybe some new ideas for what is an acceptable precautionary measure otherwise some of these businesses will never reopen if we wait for an all clear which satisfies everyone

  3. I don't disagree. Provided that the acceptable precautionary measures are determined by medical experts rather than by political operatives.

in a system where healthcare bills over a thousand pages long are given two hour window for lawmakers to vote, hope you took that evelyn wood speed reading course, that politics will not be central to any decisions, yes that would be good. Yes.

edit: regardless of the scribes, the pols did a sad job of presenting a competent body of legislation. The show was not well staged if that was the intent. Maybe the intent was indeed to present a slap-dash what-the-hell what are they gonna do about it, rub it in their face, kinda image.
the show was telling either way, look where we are.
look where we are going over the next 10 - 20 years.
Ripe for graft and corruption, no?

99% of the content of Congressional bills is written by Lobbyists -- not by politicians & their staffs. Keep that in mind.

Officials raise concerns about CDC counting systems
    https://www.cnn.com/2020/05/15/politics/concerns-cdc-counting-systems/index.html

The public health system by which Covid-19 deaths are reported to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is "antiquated" and "not timely," often lagging by up to three weeks, causing senior leaders at the agency to believe the current death count in the US could be significantly higher, two federal health officials tell CNN.

Both of the federal health officials said it is not clear just how much higher the Covid-19 death toll might be -- potentially thousands or tens of thousands higher. At issue is the way in which data is sent in from states, the officials said.

"Provisional death counts may not match counts from other sources, such as media reports or numbers from county health departments," the CDC says on its website. "Our counts often track 1--2 weeks behind other data."
When reached for comment, CDC spokesman Benjamin Haynes directed CNN to its provisional death counts for Covid-19 on its website.

Colorado health officials claimed drunk man died of coronavirus when his blood-alcohol content was seven times the legal limit
    • Montezuma County Coroner George Deavers found that Sebastian Yellow, 35, who tested positive for COVID-19, had died of acute alcohol poisoning
    • Deavers' investigation determined Yellow's blood alcohol content was .55, which is about seven times the legal limit
    • The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, however, categorized Yellow's death as being due to COVID-19 and updated its daily tally
    • There have been 20,475 confirmed cases in Colorado of the coronavirus, which has been blamed for 1,062 deaths

The title of this thread is bullshiat... Dr. Birx NEVER stated that she "Reportedly Believes Coronavirus Death Toll Inflated By Up To 25%".

She stated that the CDC is greatly UNDERCOUNTING the COVID-19 cases due to delayed results. "Specifically, Birx believes the way the CDC gathers data on the coronavirus is antiquated, causing inaccurate and delayed numbers on both virus cases and deaths."

Tensions rise between the White House and CDC as Birx critiques virus tracking
    https://www.cnn.com/2020/05/16/politics/white-house-cdc-tension-birx-coronavirus-tracking/index.html

The title of this thread is purely the fervent imagination of some "re-open" dingbat hard at work with misinformation.

The title of the thread is the title of the article posted in the opening post. Thanks for confirming you don't actually read articles with opposing views and are just generally looking for an echo chamber.

If you want to call the article fake news, dispute the claim. Read the article and tell us where the bullshit supposedly is. It's a daily caller article quoting the Washington Post - an outlet you've quoted many times as the support for your narrative.

The initial article in the thread demonstrates that Dr. Brix NEVER STATED that she "Believes Coronavirus Death Toll Inflated By Up To 25%". All she stated was "“There is nothing from the CDC that I can trust,” Birx reportedly told CDC Director Robert Redfield.

The idea that she stated that the death toll is inflated by up to 25% is merely in the fervent imagination of the author with a political agenda -- who is willing to directly lie in the title of their article to drive their twisted agenda.

Dr. Brix believes that information from the CDC is delayed and under-counts the current deaths.
