  5. Babak did not make a specific prediction (unlike a boorish trough fed Texan), he expressed a view and presented his evidence.

All his evidence presented has the historical probability in FAVOR or an intermediate term top on the near horizon!

Here's a prediction (made already by me):

The S&P is topping out now. It will likely go to at least 885, probably 850-855, and perhaps challenge 770-780 by the END OF JULY.

If conditions warrant a re-assessment of this view, I will do so without hesitation.

The Dow by the end of July? You can have that one Jesse.

  6. What do all those bullish people think now ?

Despite the tax cuts the S&P clearly doesn't seem able to continue steaming ahead so what is that telling us ?

  7. the above post has it exactly right.

The moment all of a sudden there were no bulls around here, despite continued strength in the market, was definite confirmation the uptrend would continue.

I predict the dow will hit 9000, you folks will remember this thread, and simultaneously be squeezed out of your bearish positions.

you will then proclaim your bullishness, and that's when I'm selling.

  8. I guess you've got your reasons, but this is getting a little confusing for the rest of us.

  9. I believe the dow will hit 9000,

and I also believe we will get a good correction, probably in July.

    Better?

  10. he's right, we will see dow 9000 this summer, and then we will see a nice retracement. The prevalence of bears and shorts out there is what is keeping this rally going higher, only when the bears/shorts capitulate will it end.
