Because I'm bearish on the dollar longer term. Doesn't really matter though. We'll probably get correction tomorrow, but this is a gamble as are most plays that attempt to double an account in such a short period of time. I think my chances are better than mr double (regardless of whether I'm long USD or short USD) because of (if nothing else) fewer bid ask spreads.
Alright, buy 470,160,000 yen (i.e. short 4 million USD/JPY). I need the rate to get to 116.09 to double. If it gets to 119.03 I get a margin call. Looks like it will take more than a day (unless tomorrow is a repeat of today) [They don't let you put the full amount in a single trade? I would think you could, but when your equity gets to 10k they'd close out your position. If I could put the whole 50k in one trade, then I would need the rate to get to 116.376 to double and I would get a call when it hit 118.727]
Oh, I'm not really familiar with how margin works. At work, margin is not an issue. I suppose if I put on a position big enough I hear from the risk manager, but I don't think I've ever approached that. Do they close out all your positions when you get a call, or just enough to get you back to minimum maintenance
just asked them,they said you can have margin any amount you want so with 10,000.000 you have about 57 pips to margin call, 118,06 and you lose 25,000

What gives? No takers? At 100% every 3 days, that's about 130,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000% per year. Give me a dollar and I can turn it into more money than there is in the world. Best of all, I'm right on 100% of my calls, so there's no risk. I guess it helps that I only made one recommendation...
