And suddenly a solution to the crisis was found. No one thought anything could save us. A tax! Only the Poisonous Gas Tax, a massive and permanent tax regardless of its actual intended use, can prevent the methane from escaping and totally destroying the latest 2010 hairstyles.
Regarding the methane burp theory: "However, the pattern of isotope shifts expected to result from a massive release of methane do not match the patterns seen throughout the early Triassic. Not only would a methane cause require the release of five times as much methane as postulated for the PETM,[11] but it would also have to be re-buried at an unrealistically high rate to account for the rapid increases in the 13C/12C ratio (episodes of high positive δ13C) throughout the early Triassic, before being released again several times.[11]" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Permian–Triassic_extinction_event
And besides, only "70 percent of terrestrial vertebrate species becoming extinct" during that event and that was before we had iPads so I'm sure as a species we will have a much higher survival rate than creatures 250 million years ago.
I knew we should have colonized space long ago, disaster is coming to earth sooner or later, why is it that after 40 years, we can only escape the solar system with Voyager, we need to invest in terraforming, use nuclear propulsion technology and reach the nearest stars ASAP
You mean those who donât understand that basic math/physics show solar & wind are fairy tales when it comes to producing significant amounts of energy?
what an embarrassing way to go. future survivors tens of thousands of years from now will read history about how the earth was wiped out by smelling a big fart. you would want the future to read of our extinction of something exciting like getting hit by an asteroid. Make it a heroic tale of survival of very few from the off course space debris, or giant tsunamis wiping out almost all of mankind. no ... we have to be remembered as the ones that sniffed the earths ass.
doesn't methane and the list of poisonous gases escape during a volcanic eruptions? so what is so spectacular about this one?
