Well of course this is true. This is the whole purpose of Jewish Mothers. Obviously they brought us up that way. Though I would say "guilt" is the more accurate word than punishment and suffering.

Now of course, being older and out of harms way (my mother's), I get the same treatment from my wife. Truly, it ain't easy being a jew.

Of course there are some upsides as well. When I think of one, I will let you know.

very true, just as a true and honest application of scientific methods has many advantages, in the sense of observing a phenomenon, formulating an hypothesis to explain the phenomenon, and using the hypothesis to predict the results of new observations.

applying that chances are slim you'll be falling for the next inevitable piece of propaganda or hype from wherever it may emanate.

    :D

    cheers

and let's just hope that the many many good people of israel and palestine will prevail over their lesser brethren, and that peace may finally get a chance.

Yeah, 35 words a minute....I am going to hire aphie to take dictation one of these days.

I can understand that you were defending the system. You are right...it has taken a lot of "beating down" since the last presidential election. And also, as you pointed out, from the "sore losers" as the case would figure to be. I don't think it is a party issue. It is a winners and losers issue.

    Peace,

hi, oh, ok, that explains some of your positions here:D

    no, just kidding.

seriously, the thing that always makes me wonder is that when you get jews and arabs in a room you'll (almost)never have any problems.

it's just when you get power hungry thugs in charge that the problems start.

germany wasn't identical to hitler, the japanese weren't the military leadership, most israelis oppose sharons crazy stance, i would presume that most palestinians oppose their crazy extremists, and on and on and on...

ex yugoslavia, christians, muslims and jews were living in peaceful coexistence...

take just one nationalistic idiot like milosevic (who probably wasn't even a nationalist as he was much too intelligent for that kind of idiocy, he just used nationalism as his vehicle to power like many before him and many after him) and all that was built up in decades goes down the drain in less than a couple of years.

it's easy to mislead the masses to follow you on a path of destruction if you have just the slightest rhetorical skills.

    ah well.

it's the leadership, not the people.

    cheers

    Amen to that!!!!!!

And it is really staggering to think (in my case know because my wife is directly involved in the issue) that the VAST majority of both Israelis and Palestinians want exactly this.

Contrary to what appears to be, the reality is that the protagonists on both sides consist of a virtually insignificant number on each side. What makes them significant is their impact. It doesn't take too many lunatics to conspire to defeat the intent of the overwhelming majority.

19 hijackers changed the world on 9/11/01.

8 Palestinian terrorists changed the world at the Munich Olympics.

One leader in Iraq can conceivably bring an end to the world.

One president (JFK) prevented his military advisors from deploying a nuclear strike on Cuba that likely would have ended the world (a case of reason prevailing over lunacy).

One man's decision (right or wrong) caused the deaths of hundreds of thousands in Hiroshima and Nagasaki (Truman).

It is unfortunate (and very occasionally fortunate) that so few can have such a great impact. But that is the way of the world. Our only real hope is that reason outlives irrational hatred. And intolerance.

    Peace,

  8. You're the master:)
I could not have said it better.
Rs7, I prepared an answer to your long post, but I prefered not to post it. Let's just say I strongly disagree with your views.

  9. EXACTLY.

Which is why the non-few should watch, scrutinize, and criticize (PATRIOT Act nonwithstanding) every move these bastards make, and try to prevent them from overstepping their bounds.

History shows conclusively that sooner or later, independent of party or country or law, they will try to overstep them.

  10. Just for the fun that would be great if you could put also some israelis such as Sharon, Begin and so on...
Also today 10 palestinian were killed by the Israeli army in a day that is a Holy day then end of Ramadan.
Also don't forget the 25 people killed by the israeli settler in the Mosque and that Igal Amir that killed Shamir.

I forgot Sabra and Chatila and plently of others innocent victims.
