I don't understand, but I am on day 2 now with minimal to no pain. I haven't gotten the clove oil and haven't tried anything else to bide my time until the dentist opens. I didn't take any Advil yesterday and made it through the night without waking up to pain. When I eat and hit the tooth it still is noticeable, but not a screaming pain anymore. Strange and I'll take it for now.
All set up for the day ahead, so figured I'd update for the hell of it. Finally got into the dentist who sent me for a root canal. The Doc there got started and discovered cracks and at least one running along one of the paths of the root. Now I'm heading in next week to the oral surgeon to have the tooth yanked and prepped for a permanent fake tooth. Oh what fun it is! Maybe give someone a laugh for the day with my experience at the root canal. She numbed my mouth and that was no problem. Next she gives me a block to hold my mouth open and allow my jaws to relax and not have to hold my mouth open. Well crap, I have sinus issues and they are constantly draining which I don't even think about anymore, that is until she flipped me past vertical in the chair to see into my mouth. At that point my sinuses were draining like crazy and with the block in my mouth I couldn't make the motions required to swallow the crap, and had the effect of drowning. She was good and told me she hates the block herself and I just have to keep my mouth open on my own. The funny part was I almost flew out of the chair when I lost my breath, and had the feeling of drowning. No, not funny to me at the time, but in retrospect I can laugh. It caught me off guard and freaked me out in the moment. I had to actually get my focus and calm down. I don't know the last time I was in that position of where I panicked like that, but it has been a long time. Peace
