So I ordered the clove oil from Amazon yesterday but after doing so, I realized that wasn't going to help me on that particular day so I went up the street to Whole Foods and bought it again there. I figured it's a good thing to have around so an extra won't hurt. So not only did I have tooth sensitivity but my gum had also swollen up below that same tooth and it wasn't getting any better from day to day. So I put a few drops on my tooth and gums, and hoped for the best. I could tell pretty fast that it had numbed things up a bit. A few hours later, I put a few more drops in the same area. This morning I wake up and the gum area that was swollen had reduced in size by about 80%. The tooth pain had reduced down by about the same amount. I can't believe it! Thanks for the recommendation @KCalhoun !!
Aleve did absolutely nothing to relieve the pain for me. Advil works for the most part, but I'm going to give the clove oil a try also. Elective surgeries are opening up here this week, but not the dentist.
God, so sorry to hear this! This sounds so painful and awful. Glad everyone's been supportive on the forum and hope the clove oil works. Just nuts you can't get in for a visit....hope you are able to get in within the next few weeks.
Clove Oil will diminish the pain of a toothache. edit: ... and see it has been recommended. Oil pulling /brushing with baking soda are also good alternative dental practices that help with gum sensitivity and good oral hygiene.
