Why? For not playing along with police fishing expeditions? If police stop a person for speeding they shouldn't be asking where you are going? Do you have anything illegal in the car? Do you mind if I search the car ? etc.
Like you wlak the beat yourself? Doubt it. Sorry but no one said throw the entire force out the window and start from scratch. But if there are 5% of police that do something bad then it is a far higher number that never go reported. Also when a guy with a badge pretends to have absolute rights to violate my constitutional rights then there needs to be whole scale changes. Add to the fact that good cops protect bad cops shows it is not about some tiny percent. When bad cops are simply reassigned or complaints are buried and the cop never gets punished... or when he shoots and kills a person for a misdemeanor which is not punishable by death (or when the white guy gets to go home to his family eventually while the black guy gets buried). There have been calls for improvements to the police SINCE THE 1950s....... shit has been done. When will things change. How many innocnet people or non felony suspects been murdered by police. How many judgments have been settled with victim's families that we as tax payers have to support? One is too many so something needs to be done. A short stint at the police academy is appaling to give someone that much power. Police do not have absolute rights to come up to me and demand to see my ID or ask me where I am going just because I look different to them. Sorry but the Constitution does not work that way. If I say no, the cop is not allowed to create a resisting arrest situation to throw me in prison.
What was suspicious about him... black guy? If cops ask questions, there is no legal obligation to answer them. If the cops want to detain him to ask questions they need justifiable probable cause. This is not 1940s Germany where you are mandated to show papers on request and cops are gods. They are required to follow the law too...... many do not. And get off for it.
nope, not both sides. It's not illegal to be an asshole to cops, it's not illegal to not answer their questions. Fairly illegal to arrest someone on bogus/made up charges.
I thought we just established that the cops can ask whatever they want. You don't have to answer them. But that redneck only did what he did to provoke, for no other reason. Was he within his legal rights? Sure, he did not act illegally, but he was an asshole because he made a big drama out of his stupid window, and because of guys like this it makes the cops' job all that harder.
Nothing has been done? Body cams, hello? So your claim has been defeated already. I can name you dozen other improvements but you already got proven wrong with a single one.
So what did he exactly get arrested/detained for? I bet none of us exactly know because the cam and hence the entire situation was not clear. Simple as that. Up until then the police absolutely behaved professionally, courteously, and politely. At a certain point in the video, everything is pure conjecture.
you were warned. You change again what I said. After multiple times of exposing you for putting words into others' mouth. You are being silenced by my rights, onto ignore you go. Adios.
The cop asked him to roll his window all the way down(so he could snoop inside),which the driver is not legally obligated to do.
Snoop, peek, bla. Go ahead with your freedom mania. Don't get an orgasm next time you sing your national hymn in the football stadium. Cops are on my side and I make their life easier. They are just employees doing their job and almost all do their job professionally and well. I live my life and actually help out where I can regardless of skin color while you sit on your sofa and conduct your daily round of virtue signaling.
