For futures, my average statement clearing Rosenthal-Collins Group has been over 50 pages each day in 2009. My open positions take one page of it.
It's been a great ride, so I'm going to cut my trading back to two or three days per week max for a while. Say hello to my kids. Meet my wife.
I'm a size spread trader, so you directional outright guys have to take that with a grain of salt. Really.
Thanks everyone for your input. Let be be even more specific with this question. Can anyone tell me what their specific trading costs are. Basically I am trying to ensure I understand all potential fees from order entry to exit. I have been reading various threads and here are the lists of trading related charges I have found thus far: Commission SEC Fees TAF ECN Have I misssed any? Does anyone have a link or document that contains a list or examples? Cheers
I'll answer my own question in case others are searching on this topic: SEC Charge Note: SEC charges a fee of $25.70 per $1,000,000.00 (effective April 13 2009) of market value for all SELL side orders. This fee is assessed for all SELL orders executed by Online Brokerage Services and is added to any total commissions charged. FINRA TAF (Trading Activity Fee) On October 1, 2004, the SEC approved a FINRA rule filing amending the Trading Activity Fee (TAF) to reduce the TAF rate for covered equity securities** as well as reduce the maximum per trade charge on covered equity securities. As a result of this amendment, the TAF rate has been reduced from $0.10 per 1,000 to $0.075 per 1,000 shares. The maximum rate has been reduced from $10.00 on a 100,000 share trade to $3.75 on a 50,000 share trade. These changes are effective November 1, 2004.
