  2. Be careful. selling off for good reasons - not *just* sell the news. Market believes apple just gave away $200 of margin on the iphone.

I love the product line - I may run and buy an iphone, 15 ipods, and an imassage... maybe even an iRAQ...

    but i ain't buying istock...

not until it settles a little lower.

they have a lot to prove between now and earnings. street needs to see margins are high enough on the iphone, increased sales are worth it, and/or the iphone kickback from at&t is enough to make up for this loss.

1 - One and the same ? What are your other good reasons.

2 - They did. It was a $200 cut on their iPhone.

  5. 1- sell the news without -good- reason often results in a quick price retrace

2- like I said, today I buy the iphone, not the stock. Just picked up 2 of em for $299 each (4gb model).

AAPL reduced the prices on its IPODs that is what appl has never done. That seems a bad sign and I believe aapl is feeling the competition pressure and that should be considered as a warning for longs. One thing that appl's CEO is good at is to play with investors's mind and try to manipulate its stock price with creating exaggerated excitements.

wait for double bottom to form before long entry, may get to buy at 132. If it gets much below 131.60, you may not want to buy anymore for now. Trade the price action instead of what others are telling you what the news means.

  9. I got out of the Sept 135 calls today at 5.30, just could not take it anymore, gave back almost all my profits. They must not be selling as many iphones as expected to take $200 off the price? Now they are going to rebate the previous buyers $100? They will probably do well longer term, but this news seems very negative in the short term. Anyone buying here?

I kind of thought that iPhone would not be able to live upto iPod's popularity, it's just a pimped up friggin blower after all, I suppose only minority getting their panties wet over this gadget.
