Don and everybody else, 18 orders today, 1 fill, 1 winner, 30 cents. Maybe an early exit since it kept on going 45 cents more, but hey all profits are good profits. Time to walk my lizard. BTW, anyone get hosed on LLY today? And what about EDS for a gap play today, somebody got hurt there as well. Take care all.
4 fills, 2 wins 1 loss 1 scratch + 40 cents after commissions Made sure I was all out before the 10 o'clock confidence number came out. Also tried scaling out of half position at a target and trailing stop on remainder- worked ok, increased the profit on one name, decreased it a little on the other, overall added a few pennies. Something to look at when a stock runs.
Ok, today's action: 18 orders, 2 fills, 2 winners, on respectively 15 and 35 cents each. Still first winner could have been better as it tanked another 60 cents (!), working on it though. Walking the lizard now, give me your updates guys.
ended up with 6 fills on 13 stocks. Serious multitasking- causes some premature exits- just grabbed a couple of small profits, pitched a couple of scratches, and then was able to closely monitor last couple of postions. only one long, 5 shorts. After commissions got the following results: +20 +4 -2 +9 +13 +25 -5 I have trouble with lace up shoes, but I think that adds up to +64 pennies. Been testing some new spreadsheets over the last few days. Yesterday no fills today 8 which is personally too many for me to watch (filled at the same time) so I lost a little bit on it More test to do Robert
what is the envelope size that statistically produces close to optimum results? e.g. .8, 1.0, 1.2% too wide would result in higher probability trades, but very few if any. Too narrow and maybe too many to handle plus lower possible quality. Any suggestions based on your experience? Does the amount of open gap on futs dictate different envelope size? e.g. over 1% gap and use of over 1% envelope size, and less than 0.5% gap and use of 0.8%? or just keep it simple and use 1% fixed all the time? TIA
Well, I've been wrestling with my O.O spreadsheet for a while now and think I'm somewhere in the ballpark. I tried to enter O.O's the last two days but there was a bug in my spreadsheet and no fills yesterday, it worked today though. It was a great first run: +30, +35, -6, +7,+8 = +73 cents w/o comish. Left all kinds of money on the table, but no biggie as I have to get used to managing that many positions at once.
Just blundered. Got a fill long on HD, didn't go well. Tried to pair it with LOW, but hit the buy instead of sell!! Then realizing my mistake, I did it again!! This is just inconceivable - Brain farts... If any of you guys trade LOW on the open, I was the asshole on the other side of your trades... nitro
Back in office (had a little surgery done)... New spreadsheet - to reflect our switch over to SLK/GS back office....pretty easy opening....2 fills, 2 winners....got out way too soon...made $400 (coulda made 2,000)...oh well, woulda coulda....
netted 21 cents after commission 6 fills on 13 stocks 3 wins 3 losses +28 +27 +15 -17 -7 -25 (all net after 2 cents round turn comish) The +28 was BAC. Long at 68.55, kind of automatically put in an offer at 68.85. Then the offer posted went to 68.90 something, I tried to cancel but too late. Left a lot on the table. Good case for selling half and keeping some.
