  2. AGGHHH, It's days like today that make me not want to go to Vegas to take the Donster up on his free drink offer and miss trading opportunities.

16 fills today. 5 losers 1 breakeven and 10 winners. The best thing was that my losers were on my low volume/low share quantity stocks and my big winners were on my high volume/high share stocks so had a really, really good net profit. The best I've had in a month.

Hope to see some of you guys in Vegas, if not, happy trading.

  3. Bootcampers: 8 traders, 6 with fills, 4 winners, 2 losers, Net of +.48 ...pretty good for the first full day of "newbies."

See you guys in Vegas.....booth 528, near stage 2 (and the food court, of course). LOL

  5. OK, numbers for Thursday's bootcampers:

    1. +.20 2. +.24 3. -.09 4. + .14 5. zero 6. + .10 7. zero 8. zero

    zero's = no fills

    Profit of 59 cents....good boys!!

Will be heading down to the Expo to check things out, and get ready for tomorrow. If anyone is around on Friday, I'll be in the booth for meetings (booth 528).

Did anyone else cancel thier opening orders today when the spoos tanked 90 seconds before the open? I did, and only re-sent a handfull of orders in the time I had left, no fills.

For those of you who left your orders in, I know you made money, but did you make any adjustments or trade differently with the news, and do you think you were taking any big risks with some potentially huge news just out?

Those panic opens are almost always good ones to fade, but with the overnight bombing, then the evacuation of the white house for an unknown reason, the risk of being long up the wazoo and the news being something major wasn't worth it for me. Any comments?

I'm totally in agreement with you lescor. I did the same. As soon as I saw the SPoos tanking, I dumped all of my orders. Yeah, those that stayed made money, but I'm inclined to agree; this was an undefined risk, and I'm not fond of those. That could've been the beginning of a giant sell off, and who knows what was going on at the time. I had visions of 9/11 all over again, and I didn't want to be long the world while the markets were closed for some period of time.

I put some orders in once the EMinis stabilized but got fills on nothing. Kind of an empty feeling not starting the trading day with opens....

  8. It's ok to "err on the side of caution" in this crazy day and age. This was so ominous...and right at the opening, easy to get spooked.....

  9. Jheesh...

I turn my back for a bit and look what you guys let happen..

Lack of bullets will probably make my life tougher. I do a lot of shorts and I have been using bullets on almost all of them.

Gotta wonder in who's interest it is to drive out the daytraders. My suspicion is that the pond is getting smaller, and the sharks are finding it harder and harder to feed in their normal manner. So they lean on the regulators to help them gain advantage over the competing carps and catfishes so as to have free run on the mullets.

    Just one theory.

BTW Don, I play on PartyPoker (doesn't everybody?), and on PokerStars. Been doing better than in the market, but the swings can be tough to handle.

Market opens in 15 min, I will see how this new thing affects my trading. Had to reprogram my hot keys to add "sell short".

    Good trading all.

  10. Tony, Tony, Tony....read the rest of my posts about bullets... No Big Deal...there are more than one other alternative methods available to help in our trading. I will have more after our traders are brought up to speed and fully implemented.

Party Poker is where some of our top guys play as well (after the market closes of course)....

Boot campers doing well....my offer still stands...and you can still trade with those "other guys"....
