  1. Lot's of base hits today. 14 fills. 9 winners 5 losers.

Had a single (small winner) that could have been a Grand Slammer ($1 mover). Definently looking forward to a Vegas break and chattin with the Donster. Don said that he is buying a round on another thread. Hope all 20,000 ET'ers show up.

Even though I won the game today I am PO'd because I didn't max out my profits as well as I could have. Oh well...

  2. 1 made 29 cents, the other 2 lost 11 cents...the other 7 are getting checked in today.

Don, do you have an opinion about this SEC decision concerning the Bullets and Conversions? I haven't finished reading the entire release, but doesn't sound good for us hyper-active scalping types. Just curious about your thoughts. TIA

  4. We have our legal people looking into it. It may not be a big thing anyway if they eliminate the uptick rule (as they are considering). Positive side is that we will save $$ on bullets. Negative side is that we may have to tighten up our scalping models a bit.

Don, weren't they only going to eliminate the rule for the top 300 vol. stocks?

  6. That would be the beginning...and pretty much all the stocks that most of us trade.

unfortunately I also trade many stocks that do low volume. I can understand the SEC's argument when it comes to bullets, but Conversions seem much easier to justify as a risk free investment vehicle.

Yep, the tap dancin' regulators who pull/tangle the strings are testing
traders' adeptness and ingenuity to change with the markets all over again...

...kinda like the 'ol Texas two-step...'cept not nearly as fun 'cause
the dance floor is deep in mutual fund managers' manipulatin' muck!

  9. Does anybody know any sites that have the top 300 Volume stocks listed? Also, is this the top 300 stocks for both NYSE and NAZ?

NYSE does on their site nyse.com, under "Market Information", then "Data Library". The actual page link is:

    http://www.nyse.com/marketinfo/p1020656068262.html?displayPage=/marketinfo/1022221392351.html

Scroll down that page to the Monthly Share Volume by Symbol section, click on the most recent month, it brings up a table which can be cut and pasted into Excel to sort by volume.
