  1. Same with BA on Friday, it had bad news (lost some work from the government to LMT) and gapped down on the open and then went positive right after opening. Its open was the low of the day. But you are right on tighter stops on news stocks-a definite must. Sometimes they start ticking against you in big increments right after the open, which really sucks.

  2. A better day today. No problems with Raven or Stirling.

    RCL +.55
    BR .00
TXN +.24, and cheated myself out of another .12 by exiting manually. But, I had a good profit and wanted to book it.
    T -.03
    HUM .00
    HMA -.02

100 to 400 share lots, carefully sized with regard to the position of Leo relative to Mars.

I would like to get a whole week in with NO PROBLEMS.

We try for 2 in a row tomorrow.

    HCA -.06
    AAI -.18
    CMH -.01
    KG +.17
    JNY -.50 OUCH !!!

Should have gotten rid of JNY, it was a very late opener and had somewhat bad news.

Gonna have these kind of days sometimes.

  5. Good opening, but screwed myself out of $$$$$ by exiting manually today instead of letting the system do it. And, for some reason, I was very skittish today. Didn't want to let them run.

KG +.12 left $$ on the table
ELX +.03 left $$ on the table, but it looked shaky early
GMH +.12 left $$ due to fright of losing profit.
BLS +.10 left a little to early
FRE +.15 left way too early
    AEP +.09 coulda, woulda, shoulda
    SLE +.15 " " "
ADI +.01 This did look tough at the opening
    IM +.05
    JNS +.04

Oh well, what can I say. Tomorrow I will hang tough.... and probably bemoan the fact i didn't take a little profit when I had it.

    What a game.

If I ever catch that fellow who told me that trading stocks was an easy way to make good money....... we don't want to contemplate what his fate will be.

Did anyone get a piece of the Healthcare stocks today? Talk about a sympathy play with CAH.... Opened down and just kept smakin' it.

WLP cost me 60 cents today. OUCH! And that was a quick exit. It sold down lots further too. ATH did pretty much the same, although not as hard as WLP.

Those wrecked a pretty good streak of winning days too.... :( Awww, just part of the game.

  9. Holy Cow!!! What a crazy opening today-2 healthcare stocks absolutely ruined what could have been one of my best openings ever (10 out of 11 shorts worked). ATH and MCK took me out back to the shed and showed me who's boss. How bout that 0.05 price improvement on the opening price for ATH, I have never experienced that before. I took CAH off thankfully-I had experienced enough pain by that time! I got screwed on HCA and CVH earlier in the week too. It seems like a lot of the healthcare stocks have been following through for some pretty large moves in the direction of their opening gaps lately. Has anyone else noticed this? HCA was really bad on Mon/Tues, it opened up big both days, comes in for a few cents, and then shows and prints much higher and you end up losing thirty cents (BTW, I believe you have to take more than just a few cents profit with these openings). Also, does anyone have any input on if certain stocks are just plain bad for openings all the time or do they go in cycles? Last year CVH was one of my best opening stocks, but this year it has been one of the worst. But on the opposite side, I had a stretch where HON really stunk, but then it worked really well for a period of time, and actually ATH worked really well the last time I got if for an opening order (short on 6/17).

Also, anyone else notice that opening shorts have been doing much better than opening longs lately? It seems like this has been the case since mid-June.

  10. Forgot to post on Friday until it was too late. Echo's servers go offline at 5:30 local time, so I can't look up what I did til Monday.

Had a decent morning. I remember 3 small losers, (or 2 and a scratch) and 4 or 5 winners. GBH and VSH were decent winners long, can't remember the shorts.

T was big loser, only .05, exited most of the winners manually, and mostly at the best spot. Would have lost ground on several if I had waited on Raven.

I am trying the idea of manually exiting winners by watching the P/L and open book, and letting Raven take care of the quick adverse moves. Worked OK on Friday.

Heading out to the airport in a couple of hours. Going to Chicago to trade at Echo's head office for a couple of weeks. I am hoping Vito can get my Echo methodology trading squared away. I am still dyslexic when it come to reading stock moves. Bought CB at the very top early Friday, and then, not content with that, did it again.

Lost .38 which put a dent in my P/L for the day, and in my confidence...... again. :(

Will post again when I get set up for OO in Chicago.
