I'm going to bite my tongue on this one, but I will say that this thread is HILARIOUS!!! I can't believe that Pristine doesn't do opening orders as well...
Quite the contrary, any real, working strategy takes training and understanding. This is a "simple" (much different than "easy") strategy, with true results (not hypothetical b.s. like so many others). It will work for many, and not for some....as in most things. Remember, my vantage point shows only net results, and we have an easy game to keep score in. Most traders cannot and should not employ this type of strategy. We share with our traders the strategies that are working in current market situations, and encourage them to learn from experience, not from specific individual trades..... that's all, nothing more, nothing less...and it seems to be working well. I try to help, and sometimes I wonder why....and may not bother in the new year. Don
Given the extremely high failure rate of Bright traders---over 80%---, the training must be not be simple and easy to understand. Sounds like boiler plate disclaimer stuff in your post.....is the NASD now monitoring your posts? Not that I would have alerted them, mind you. P.S. Threatening not to help in the New Year? I am shaking in my boots.
I APPRECIATE DONS HELP AND IM SURE MOST HERE DO. 777 HAVE YOU EVER POSTED ANYTHING USEFUL ?DO YOU EVEN TRADE? FORM YOUR POSTS YOU STRIKE ME AS SOMEONE WHO IS BITTER BECAUSE THEY FAILED AT TRADING.
I think, and hope, that those with the verbal diarrhea are in the minority, and that there are quite a few of us that study, appreciate, and take this thread very seriously, so I do hope that you reconsider ending it in the New Year. The stategy not only works, but is very useful for getting into the trading day, as you have suggested. I cannot emphasize enough how this thread is helping me with my trading. I also refer back to a comment made by Lescor, (whom I also thank for sharing his knowledge), and wish that certain individuals would take their bantering to another thread. Unfortunately I know that won't happen, as some people thrive on negativity, and therefore don't even warrant any acknowledgment. Thank you, XGG
you've gone from simply being a nuissance, to ruining the tone of a thread, to potentially single handedly bringing to an end a thread that numerous others find useful for a strategy that they choose to employ. if you care about anybody or anything other than gaining attention for yourself, then you'll leave the thread alone, and post your anti-bright campaign elsewhere. think about someone other than yourself.
ok, so i'm not going to bite my tongue any more... there's no need to kill threads, and there's no need to b!tch out people who criticize the strategies that some people like to employ... but what i have a problem with in this thread is the fact that the opening order crowd has neglected to mention little things like 1)there is generally poor liquidity in NYSE stocks at the open; 2)this strategy takes on a tremendous amount of risk unless you have many opening orders spread over different stocks, etc...blah blah blah... what i hear from the big opening order people is just mindless BS about how easy it is to make money with this strategy, when in reality, it's really not. it's almost as mindless as those who envelope listed stocks with software...
Knowing someone else's P&L has no bearing on learning any strategy. And very few posts here by Don actually teach you anything beyond the "rehashed" basics. Hey Don... I'm sure you've convinced a few that you have "usable" advice. Why don't you have those followers pay you on a monthly basis to have the privilege to email you? Get those freeloaders to loosen their wallets a bit. Or better yet, go write a book or do a video... All in all, I congratulate Don for FINALLY becoming more forthright on the reality behind making OO strategy work. But it will take alot more to convince me that this old bird has changed his feathers.
