    limitdown,

if you do a search (see upper right corner) and just put in "opening order" you'll get returns that should cover these questions more than once. Don has outlined exactly what your asking for several times and should be easy to retrieve.....

    Hope that helps.....

  4. 1&2: Same stocks, usually 17-20 or so. I move in or out of some sectors once in a while.
3: Several advanced traders utilize our programs to enter hundreds of orders, sometimes "scaling in" ...they use more of a "scattergun approach" ....but have a plan for the exits, usually by sector.
4: I just use 2,000 shares each day, and have for a long time. I have new people start with 200 for a week or two, get up to a 1000 when doing well, or cut back if they run into problems.
5: Holding time from 10 seconds to 10 hours....usually out in 10 minutes, however.

Remember, this is a high percentage play (getting in with the specialist), and there are many ways to get out (close).

    Hope this helps...

  8. Wow, quick in and out. All slingshots were filled at or with better prices.

    5 of 5 winners +$1500 (75 cents).

Used a .75 window to reflect the narrow opening range.

  9. Not much of a day here.

FDC long -.16, and darn glad I took a hike when I did.

    XOM long -.04, see above,

S short +.40, it had looked weak, but started backing up some, so I jumped off before the numbers came out. Sure would have made out if I had been daring enough to hold for the numbers.

  10. GE bit me a bit, 20 cents....but managed a $200 profit nonetheless. + 10 cents. 4of 5 winners.

GE acted poorly even during the small "rally" this morning....I tried to get out at 25.55, missed it....second "rally" gave me 25.45 before heading south.

    Back to work...
