They have a qualifying process to go through so that they don't cause harm to OTHERS! trading doesn't cause anyone any harm, so there's no qualifying procedure. SEC tried to save people from themselves by introducing the PDT rule (which is a total fuck up, because it forces people into prop firms, where their funds aren't as secure). fucked up idiotic regulators tried to introduce a screening process for prop firms by requiring trader to obtain the series 7 - which has absolutely ZERO to do with trading. it's the regulators who should bear the brunt of your assault, not prop firms. i'm not sure why the obviousness of that is lost on you. you obviously believe deeply in what you are doing by pointing out the hype in don's comments (so you've got a full time job just doing that ), but try and stick to sensible arguments. at the end of the day dude, it is very simple. people wanna trade, prop firms provide that oppurtunity. it is just fuckin totally fuckin MORONIC to hold it against a prop firm for making money on commissions. your continuing rants against that paint you as one of the biggest fools on ET. the "problem" - according to you - is that prop firms should not be able to advertise their services..or that there should be greater truth in their statements...in which case you have a point. and to that extent, your comments provide value. sadly for you, your misanthropic outlook on trading (as evidenced by your "are traders ethical" rant) means you probably aren't gonna be around for long as a trader..
"They have a qualifying process to go through so that they don't cause harm to OTHERS! trading doesn't cause anyone any harm, so there's no qualifying procedure. Trading doesnât cause anyone else harm but the individual directly involved with the trading? What about the families and friends of people who trade and lose their money doing so because they really had no business trading in the first place? There is a concept known as suitability, and if you had a series 7 license you would know all about this concept. In our society, we often have to take steps to protect people from themselves, as it is an all too common, expensive, and painful process to clean up the messes left by those who have no business engaging in certain practices. I would wager that the stress, and failure of trading at prop firms has led to alcohol abuse, drug abuse, and divorce at a higher rate than other professions. Regarding who should should bear the "brunt of my assult"....the regulators aren't out trying to recruit people to trade at prop firms by employing deceptive and manipulative marketing tactics. "you obviously believe deeply in what you are doing by pointing out the hype in don's comments (so you've got a full time job just doing that ), but try and stick to sensible arguments." Some see the sense of my arguments, some don't. "at the end of the day dude, it is very simple. people wanna trade, prop firms provide that oppurtunity. it is just fuckin totally fuckin MORONIC to hold it against a prop firm for making money on commissions. your continuing rants against that paint you as one of the biggest fools on ET." If people want to trade at prop firms, nothing I can say or do is going to change that. If someone wants to shoot up with H, what can I do? If someone want to go to Vegas and lose all their money, what can I say? Obviously, many will ignore my comments, but perhaps one or two will take the time to thoroughly investigate what I am saying and decide for themselves. What is wrong with being too careful when it comes to career choices? "sadly for you, your misanthropic outlook on trading (as evidenced by your "are traders ethical" rant) means you probably aren't gonna be around for long as a trader..." You are entitled to your opinion of my perspective on mankind and/or the state of my sadness or happiness in life. Whether or not I am around for long as a trader or not has nothing to do with opinions expressed in this forum, now does it? You really don't know how long I have been trading, do you? Nor does the truth of what I am saying have anything to do with whether I have ever traded, or have been trading for years, whether or not I have worked at a prop firm or not, etc. Truth is truth, no matter who speaks it. 777
5 fills today, 4 winners 1 loser, but a scratch on the day, wfc got away from me to wipe out the 4 winners. still working on my exits.
1 fill, a loser. Lost .25 on WFC. Must of had too large an envelope today and yesterday. No fills yesterday. TO BEAT A DEAD HORSE: I think we all understand that Don is in business to make money. He charges money to attend his seminars to make money. The fact that Don has motive to promote his business and present the best side of his business is easy for everyone to understand. There is no need to keep repeating it over and over again. I am sure that don is an active trader of his own money which is better than most gurus that primarily sell books and give speaches or peddle a useless chat room with a high monthly fee. Don provides as much or more useful and positive content for this board than anyone.
lota heat on Dons seminar... but i dont see any other information sources,.. i have been to echos and brights, what others have people attended and whats recomend... say whats good ... no more bashing. thanks in advance.
Out of curiosity, was the ECHO a lot of rehashing of what the Bright course is, or are there some things in the ECHO that was not in Bright? nitro
OK, we waited for a while, and then I cancelled the openings (had a dentist appointment)....but the openings on my stocks would have worked out well according to the opening and the fade. Back to it tomorrow. Don
Don, I didn't see an answer to this question. Is there a point in posting how many open orders you put in and how many were winners/losers? Some people might think you're just trying to promote something. Thanks, Uptik2000
