Filled on 2 stocks out of 13. One winner and one looser. Trying to narrow down my OO to only one sector which shows some promise. Feel the correlation might be better doing that. Keep up the good work guys!
I actually prefer to diversify the opening orders to several sectors. I have banks, brokers, drugs, and techs in my list. When you have one sector, you may get all long, or all short...which can be a problem. But, as long as you're making $$$ every day, then do whatever feels right to you!! Good Job!!
Here are today's action: 2 winners, 1 looser, 3 scratch. All in all a profit of 25 cents after comm. Average P/L ratio of 10 cents per trade in total. Best trade of today was probably where I lost 11 cents long, but the stock went straight down 2 bucks
Zero done today...too bad since most of my stocks opened up and went straight south..... I was in Phoenix with some new people in the office, and felt bad that I didn't get any fills. Heading to Cherry Hill, NJ tomorrow...hopefully will do better there.
Here are today's action at the opening: 2 winners, 1 scratch, 1 looser. A total of 8 cents net per trade. Winning trades made 25 and 15 cents, a scratch of 1 cent, and a looser that was 10 cents. The loosing trade was, as before, JNJ where we "all" had 10 cents in our pockets until we sent a market sell order, which in turn the f.... specialist held for over 4 minutes until he filled it 20 cents lower. But lesson learned, NEVER PUT A MARKET ORDER IN JNJ!! What about you guys?
Today's action: STM long at 30,50, exit at 30,47, scratch/looser. Took 30,58 straight after opening but started to look heavy all the way. Got out before it turned its nose doen to 30,30. Had a problem filled opening with all my orders except the above due to wrong calculation. Had to cancel all m 30 ordrs and start all over again but ran out of time. Otherwise it could have been a smooth day with 3 winners and 2 small loosers if the prints in the transaction log for my stocks are correct. I keep my winners to myself for now, but the loosing ones today would have been CAH and STM.
Decent day today: 5 fills with 5 winners, all in all a profit of 1,1, with an average of 22 cents per opening trade.
Don- Do you track your actual winning percentage and average profit per trade - It would be interesting to know these figures, in terms of cents per share. Also, you frequently post dollars won and lost, and a lot of traders would be happy with the figures you have posted so far during this thread. Are these figures net after commission? Also, what kind of size are you trading? Same number of shares regardless of stock price? or adjusting for price of stock and volatility? Thanks for your contributions to this board.
I posted up the whole spreadsheet last month, but didn't want to take up the space each time. What I do is enter 2000 shares, and give you the P&L in dollars before commissions. Like today, you would take off about $80 or so in costs. My spread sheet shows number of orders entered (15), number of fills (today 3), winners, losers, scratch trades, and P&L. I do this daily so that when I have students here every month it will show them that we "practice what we preach" - and allow them to see in real time, what we are doing for this technique. Good Luck!!
