True, but even good days are small lately. Decent size wins have been hard to come by the last 3 months, and I'm not one to get too greedy...
1 fill / 1500 shares 1 long / + 26.00 - .4 / + 1.1% chickened out on the railroads at the last minute...they have been costing me dearly ...turned out would have been 3000.00+ winner...man am i stupid... blocked 12 of 85 lesson for today...don't assume that one stock will over shadow all others in its' sector...let the market tell you what to do...
For what it's worth, last summer was pretty tough for OO also. But the day after Labor Day, it was as though someone somewhere flipped a switch. They started to work well again. So mayber there is hope for this year.
I'm new to ET and am interested in this thread. Are you guys all trading the same method, and if so where can I learn about it? Thanks. MS
8 fills / 12500 shares 5 short / 3 long / +387.00 - .65 / + .85% got hosed for 27 cents on my HAL stop... blocked 12 of 85 p&l now according to system is +7430.00...i got to learn when to hold and when to bail... any ideas how to do this...any constructive help would be greatly appreciated...
Hi Chiguy, I notice that you've had comments like this numerous times. Have you kept a track record of these movements so that you could get solid numbers to determine if holding things longer EVERY TIME would be more profitable? And if so, Have you looked to see what the best amount of time held would be? Cash
i have kept track of my numbers but not times... i have just started logging in p&l at specific times as well... but based on what i see it seems that max profit is between 8:45 and 09:10... losses tend to accelerate earlier... i will have to work on a data base or something to keep all this straight... looks like a lot more late nights
