Bailed on my other 500 cat with 1 full point. I hope this trailing stop business continues to work (oops, I might have just jinxed it )
hon 500 +.20 and 500 at b/e stop cat 500 +.19 and 500 66.98 stop for at least 1 pt profit I've been lucky enough to have my trailing stop hit for 1 full point 3 days in a row, That accounts for basically all of my profit. I'm beginning to feel that the rest is just a churn and I need these trailing stops to get profitable.
4 fills / 7500 shares 3 short / 1 long / -734.00 - .7 / + .8% i tried to cover bni @71.98 as it was offerred @ 71.96... looks like system froze as i saw orders pile up to buy at my price...next print after about 40 seconds of freeze was 72.21 and a chase ensued from there... had the right idea but was locked out...by whom do you think???

Do you always use a limit order to get out? The reason I ask, is that another trader suggested the use of market orders and it has helped in alot of cases. I've escaped some real bad situations. Case in point is PG the other day. When it spiked down I put in a market order (i was short) and got filled immediately before it ran straight up. Yesterday I used a limit on AET and couldn't get out. It was a similar situation. If the stock is moving in my direction I will almost always use a limit order though.
sometimes i do and sometimes i don't... this morning i felt that by paying through the offer i would be filled... i am not vain enough to think that my order for 1500 shares would turn the market in BNI...it did... i just kind of sat there thinking i should be filled but as time wore on i was wondering if my order even went to the nyse... turns out i was there but got shut out as it "traded ahead" and i was how you would say...hosed...
