I am new to OPG orders and have read every post on this thread. I am using a 'new' version of some available software that is rather complex and seems like it is somewhat in a Bata testing phase, but that's OK as my trades at this point are small for information. Offer: I am a stickler for statistics. If you all will give me a list of what information would best be collected to be able to review a larger (with time) data sample I will write a MS Access table, being superior to Excel, to collect this information and give anybody that wants a copy, gratis. Perhaps every quarter we can pool this info into one table and then process it to optimize this strategy even further. I have heard some very reliable people say this strategy is on its way out due to volatility/market/exchange changes but know another gentleman that makes a very nice living from this strategy alone. I'm a struggling pairs trader that was taught this strategy from a course I am currently enrolled in. I'm hoping to get some bread and butter out of this until my slow bleed in pairs is over. Even then, in the long run, I intend to use this strategy as a compoundable facet in the context of pairs trading. I believe if properly utilized in a pairs context it will easily add another probability set and at the very least offer additional choices. Thanks to all that have posted in this thread!! Best regards, Gaddock
Haven't posted in a while. Overall still profitable, but the occasional "bad day" usually does away with 3-5 good days. Used .4 on both sides, 500 shares each on about 30 stocks. Long: AMD,MRK,HPQ,CVS,UNH Short: BK Gross of +$100 I'll take it for a Monday.
4 long (3 wins 1 loss), 1 short loser, +125 A nice day if not for KO, which just earned a ban from my OPG list. Rarely been filled on it this year, and the performance of those fills has been dog poo since February.
6 fills / 8500 shares 4 short / 2 long / +686.00 - .85 / + .65% blocked 11 of 86...no oils today... manual exits...
3 longs (1 scratch, 2 losses), 2 short wins, +70.50 net. Pretty disappointing as today was "Give Sucre a Partial On His Exit and Then Move the Stock Against Him" day. Three of my stocks did that to me today. Would have been nice otherwise.
Sorry to be so spotty wth my openings postings, I have a pretty big boot camp this time (26)...... but this week, $480 yesterday, $160 today for me. But....even though the bootcampers are well above the average of 75% win loss, today was the first 100% that I remember having. Flat opening, 16 winners, 2 break evens, 8 no fills (to be expected on a flat opening like today)....I know they read this, so "good job" everyone!! Don
4 fills / 6000 shares 2 long / 2 short / +139.00 - .95 / + .55%... bailed way too soon...damn... anybody out there trade CI on the open... CI was my loser only to reverse and go my way... i need some courage... system says +1475.00 @ 08:50 am cst
