Don, could you recommend any books or other on gaming theory? I had some probability theory in math and some minimal gaming theory in political science classes a decade or 2 ago in college, so I'd like to refresh. Thank you
You might start by reading this, from Levine at UCLA. levine.sscnet.ucla.edu/general/whatis.htm And then check out: http://www.gametheory.net/books/ You can google, "game theory, ferguson" for some more cool stuff, and "game theory, ucla" as well. Enjoy! Don
I knew we'd have some good stories here today. I also immediately thought I screwed something up when I started to get so many fills, but past experience has taught me to be patient and reassess. Took me a while to even get a handle on what I was in. I always bail too quickly on days like this so I resisted the urge to dump 'em too fast. Trading all manually though, there's no way to do it efficiently. I'm sure Mike S. crushed it today with some automated help. Second best opg day ever for me. +$31,000 on 285,000 shares. 34 wins, 5 losses, 1 scratch. BWHOOYA!!! Bring on the witch!
Don, do you have any explantion for days like this? It seems that all Spec from different stocks did the same thing and they know that this was going to happen (conspiracy)? Or is it like program trading from big boys? Also, on roll overdays like this do you use the old month or new month number? Regards, Danjos
Rollover day is the only explanation I have for it. But I've only ever seen days like this on triple witchings. The spoos were not jumpy pre-market either. Maybe some insanely huge program trade on the open or something. It came totally out of the blue, which is why I at first thought I had messed up somehow.
5 fills, 4 wins, but the one bleeder got away and ate into the gains on what would have been an above average day, like everyone else. +185
