Question for the OPG veterans here: When is the best time to submit OPG orders? Is it 1. right before 9:30am? 2. right before 9:28am? 3. or as soon as you have your orders ready? Do you have an advantage (or disadvantage) to submit your orders before others submit their OPG orders? Can others see my OPG orders, then penny them? Thanks for all the replies.
3 fills / 800 shares each 2 short / 1 long +393.00 -.8 / +.7 % cxld hal by fat finger...oh well... blocked earnings and news... i found that you must be selective... better to miss than to be in and get run over by news... learned that one the hard way a while ago...
I missed ROH this morning, and well, it was a costly mistake. Lost about 1800 on that position alone, could have been a good day. I will have to settle for a profitable one at +500. Have to be wary of the news out there. GTTY, Mike
Students M & T. Up only a couple of hundred, because of getting hit for 8 cents on HPQ this morning. Don
Keep in mind that fair value is calculated based on where futures are trading pre-market. This obviously can change between the time you send your orders and when stocks open for trading. The later you send, the better chance you have of having an accurate fair value number. VSH got me today, missed earnings on him. Second print was 20 cents against me and it got worse from there. I'm always glad when earnings season is over. A lotta land mines out there.
Since you should have your orders in 2 minutes before the bell to assure you of proper placement and a filled order, I suggest just prior to 9:28AM NYSE time. Don
