  2. Just curious how did you get stopped out in GS, was it a trailing stop, or was it a stop off the open? I don't remember the position every going negative, so I am just a little curious.

  4. with gs trading 108.62 @ 09:34:50 i placed a 108.51 sell stop...

    nyse traded 300 shares @ 108.51 and then printed 4500 @ 108.51 @ 09:35:24 stopping me out...

i manually trail my stops as the morning wears on...widening them as p&l increases...

    any ideas welcome...

I had about 40 fills, and only 1 or 2 shorts, which made me worried that something was wrong with my calculations/orders.
Then quickly tried to reduce exposure by closing most of the positions or placing slingshots all overs. After all is done about 150,000 shares and net of USD 200. Not happy with the risk reward, because I could have been down much more significantly.
Crazy moves in stock like AMD, AXL where after the first opening, next print is 15 - 20 cents against my positions.

I am checking my spreadsheet now and things seems to indicate that everything is okay, that is most of the orders would get fills on the long side. Can anybody confirm this?

    Thanks

Down 7000 USD on 200K shares.
I have been suspicious something ws wrong since yesterday that I received too many fills on the long side and also significantly higher fills than normal. I think I found out that I put the fair value as -3.1 as supposed to + 3.1.

  10. Sorry to hear of your problem, did you lose so much because you panicked, or were you just dealt a bad hand? Reason I ask, is because I have had a similar experience where my closing price was off and was filled on many orders, I was able to handle it and trade it like a basket of stocks using the futures to help me manage the trades and make money. It has happened 3 times, and the most I have ever lost was about $200.

This is an important lesson learned, hopefully it will prevent someone else from repeating it. Thanks for sharing.
