  2. Ouch....sucks to be skunked today. Consider enlarging your list. I took 22 fills this morning. Traded around 150k shares, and made about 4200. My envelope was about .9 on both sides.

    Good trading to you!

  4. I run orders on about 150 stocks. Usually about 3k shares each positions but I will try to balance out the VOL and $ per positions. Someone like WLP would be 1200 shares.

My main criteria is volume, then i look to develop some history with a particular stock. Learn the tricks that a particular specialist uses, and I learn from trading in real time. After each loser, I do a post mortem to determine what happened, and how i can handle it better in the future. An adaptive strategy.

    Good trading to you!

  6. HAHAH- sure, keep pairs trading in house, but tell everyone about opening orders!!! Hmmm, it doesn't take much to figure out that you are promoting this strategy here online to make money off of the commisisons while having the traders at Bright not really risk (or make) much money.

If you truly were interested in helping people with this strategy, your posts would be more like lescor and mschey's- every post you have made, Don, vaguely says: I made $300 today, made $160 today, which you never tell anyone is before costs- my suggestion- either contribute some real value by discussing the mechanics of the strategy or seriously, quit promoting this strategy with non-informative posts!!!

  7. Yes, Oils trade independant, so I do them seperately. Semi's have been good for me, although today, with NOK and MOT news, I adjusted everything up a bit. I do that manually.

    Mschey:
Do you trade news stocks too? Lescor , as I recalled avoided news stock. Today, many stocks with news worked well with OPG, otherwise not many stcoks opened with that kind of wide envelope. With the many shakeout and fakeout, I figured that it is better to wait till stock open then enter and decide the size. The drawback is ofc course the spec might not give you a chance to enter and also we still need to select which stocks to enter.

WHat software do you guys use to find out PreMarket Indicator (opening Range)?

  9. I screen and eliminate nearly every news stock, though there are exceptions. Years of research has given me an idea of which stocks I can include in the opening strategy. I don't like to trade against earnings, and earnings warnings or misses. The risk on this trades is asymetrical to the reward, IMO.

Hope this helps, good trading to you!

    Mike

Pre OPG indications don't affect my OPG order strategy.
